Dresses for a gala dinner at the Royal Caribbean (Oasis of the Seas) Cruise ...?

First at Oasis RC boat cruise on the sea in mid-January and must have 2 dinner (formal: suit and tie or tuxedo for men, dresses for women). Is it appropriate to dress for dinner?
